The Six Paths of Reincarnation is based on the realms of rebirth in Buddhist cosmology; a cycle of death and rebirth, where a person is reincarnated into one of the six realms depending on their accumulated karma from their past life.

Mukuro Rokudo has acquired powerful abilities in each of the realms due to repeatedly dying when he was experimented on by the Estraneo Famiglia.

Each Path is represented in his right eye as a different kanji. They can't be used at the same time.

First Path - The Realm of Hell

It's represented by the numeral kanji for "one" (一).

It grants Mukuro the power to create real illusions capable of manifesting in the physical world. This power is a form of reality-warping, but the illusion must be preconceived before the power manifests. Seemingly, Mukuro can use this ability without having the illusion to appear in the physical world, but in the mind.

Second Path - The Realm of Hungry Ghosts

It's represented by the numeral kanji for "two" (二).

It grants Mukuro the power to use the skills of others. It seems to require Mukuro to currently possess a person's body to be able to perfectly perform their signature moves.

Third Path - The Realm of Beasts

It's represented by the numeral kanji for "three" (三).

It grants Mukuro the power to summon and control deadly animals such as poisonous snakes or wild dogs.

Fourth Path - The Realm of Demons

It's represented by the numeral kanji for "four" (四).

It grants Mukuro an increase in combat capabilities. When using this path, Mist Flames surround Mukuro's right eye.

Fifth Path - The Realm of Humans

It's represented by the numeral kanji for "five" (五).

It increases Mukuro's battle aura, thus strengthening him. It is considered to be the most dangerous of the six realms. To enter it, Mukuro pierces his right eye and a type of aura resembling the Dying Will Flames then surrounds Mukuro's entire body. However, unlike the Dying Will Flame, Mukuro's aura, in and of itself, possess no danger as it is simply a representation of Mukuro's fighting spirit.

Sixth Path - The Realm of Heavens

It's represented by the numeral kanji for "six" (六).

This grants Mukuro the power to mind control others. The Sixth Path also gives Mukuro the ability to project himself as a real illusion on while possessing Chrome.

Trident

Mukuro uses his Trident to create a "pact" between whomever he wished to use the Second Realm on when he was under the influence of the Possession Shot.

Possession Shot

When shot with this bullet, Mukuro is able to possess and control the body of anyone that he has cut with his Trident. He can possess several bodies simultaneously and is still able to access the Six Realms, granting him the ability to use a different skill for each body. While possessing a person, Mukuro can also use the possessed person's abilities.

The upgraded Vongola Mist Ring created specifically to suit Mukuro Rokudo and Chrome Dokuro, and is one of seven Vongola Gear.

Includes:

Mukurou Version X, previously Gufo di Nebbia ver. Vongola as the Animal Box Ring, was merged with the Vongola Rings, Mukurou is now a part of the Earring of the Mist. However, it can still manifest outside of the ring, like all the other Box Animals. It has the appearance of a snowy owl.

Mukuro's Cambio Forma is formed when Mukurou manifests and merges with the Earring of the Mist.

Mukurou gained the ability to transform his Trident through Cambio Forma, transforming it into a khakkhara surrounded by rings of text. When Mukuro uses this khakkhara, his Six Paths of Reincarnation eye multiplies takes shape outside and surrounds the enemy with numerous eyes that are in all six paths.

Mukuro is able to utilize extremely powerful illusions. The spear tips on the ring can also extend to stab through enemies. Mukuro's coat also changes form to gain a resemblance to Demon Spade's coat.
